On the opening day of the 2014 Annual Enrollment Period for Parts A and D of United States Medicare, the United States left-wing press (everything you read) is full of articles telling seniors in the United States how stupid they are for choosing public Part C Medicare health plans and that they are too stupid to figure out how Part D drug plans work. These articles are all part of the Democratic Party's 12-year-plus campaign to repeal Parts C and D of Medicare despite the increasing popularity of the two Republican Party Medicare programs.
This despite the fact that those of us just retiring have been buying healthcare and other types of insurance for 45-55 years. Ignore the fools on the left who want you to have one-size-fits-all national health insurance not designed for
- your health needs (e.g., national drug coverage like the VA's does not cover many popular drugs and makes vets go through hoops to get any drugs at all) or
- where you live or
- your finances (Part C plans are used disproportionately the urban and rural poor--see image above)
I think the fact that 30% of us -- up from 5% just a few years ago -- have decided to go the route of choice over Democratic Party diktat says it all.
