Exposing Looney Left Lie #3 About Medicare: Many Seniors Can Change Medicare Decision's Multiple Times a Year

One of the greatest lies from the looney left about Medicare is that seniors are stupid and therefore cannot make choices from all the private Medicare options in the market (there are public options too). The corrollary to that lie is that once seniors make their choice they are forever locked into the clutches of bloodsucking for-profit insurance companies and cannot change their mind. That's another looney left lie about Medicare.

As the Medicare and You booklet (see image from the booklet above; 2014 booklet cover illustrated in upper right corner of image) clearly shows, seniors and other Medicare beneficiaries get "at least one" -- not just one -- chance per year to make changes to their plans.

Quack Wharton School Lefty's Crazy Medicare Advantage Theories--Part 1

The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania seems to be a new hot bed for recruiting guerilla fighters for President Obama's War on Seniors. First it was the bunch of UPenn academics that claimed in 2012 that seniors were stupid for choosing inexpensive drug coverage. Earlier in 2014 it was a Professor Marc Duggan. And now it's a Senior Hater named Amanda Starc. In a recent official University of Pennsylvania document called an Issue Brief concerning the public Part C Medicare Advantage program, Ms. Starc appears to me to show a significant misunderstanding of Medicare in general and the public Part C Medicare Advantage health plan program specifically.

One of the biggest lies told by the left about Medicare is that Original Medicare is public but that Part C Medicare Advantage health plans are private. This lie is part of the looney left's decades-long efforts to first stall the creation of Medicare Part C and -- for the last 15 years -- to repeal Part C. It's rubbish. 

The Republican-Party-sponsored and passed-into-law Part C (but signed by President Clinton and more or less conceived by Democratic goo goos at the Urban Institute) is just as public as Original Democratic-Pary-LBJ Medicare Parts A and B.

Kaiser Insurance Wants to Block Competitors from Medicare Markets, Screw Us Senior Citizens

On one hand, the continuing charge about "Medicare being too complicated for stupid senior citizens" by the California-based left-wing Kaiser insurance company (and the even more left-wing Connecticut-based Medicare Advocacy Commune) is just another part of the Democratic Party's and Obama administration's War on Seniors. This article by left-wing propagandist Phil Galewitz of Kaiser Insurance is apparently an opening salvo in the ramp-up to the Fall 2014 elections.  

But on the other hand it might be more involved than that. Kaiser Insurance in particular has two dogs in the hunt: it's run by a bunch of lefties who put out Galewitz's propaganda, and it does not like competition in its market (because it's run by a bunch of lefties who do not believe in competition). Therefore for both reasons, Kaiser Insurance wants seniors to have fewer choices of insurance plans. Maybe that's Kaiser's reasons for putting out these lying attacks on senior citizens.

Exposing Looney Left Lie #1 About Medicare: It's Not Traditional Medicare

One of the favorite Democratic-Party/leftist¹ propaganda tricks is to call Original Democratic Party/LBJ/Circa-1966 Medicare "traditional Medicare." It's not traditional Medicare. It's Original Medicare.

I have no idea why the left lies about this.
