The left-wing SuperPAC-like Kaiser Family Foundation, an affiliate of a west-coast insurance company, is out with more information about Medicare misleading to seniors. Worse yet, a shortened version without some of the careful propagandistic parsing of the full Kaiser article is running in many newspapers as an editorial. It looks like nothing is going to stop the media's propagandizing for Obama's re-election while misinforming senior citizens in the process.
The article says:
"(So will Medicare) remain untouched at least until next year? No. The 2010 health care law made some potentially important money-saving changes to the program..."
That answer is wrong. The answer is clearly "yes it will remain untouched until next year." The changes mentioned are part of law now and have been in the law for two years. And except for a few of the changes that were immediately effective (e.g., Medicare already includes means testing for Part D), the changes do not go into effect until 2014 or later.
Furthermore, the changes proposed by Representative Ryan mentioned elsewhere in the article as if they would go into effect this year would not go into effect until 2022 and will never affect anyone over 55 today UNLESS they choose it to (which most will because today's seniors already effectively use Medicare as a voucher system, adding three or more private policies to their government "premium support").
It is no longer possible to have an election in the United States. 90% of the media lies consistently to propagandize for one side.
