Their total unmitigated gall astounds me.
How do President Obama and Secretary Sebilius
- Keep a straight face when announcing -- as they did September 19 -- that Medicare Part C (currently known as Medicare Advantage) and Part D are wildly successful and are rapidly replacing Original Medicare (Parts A and B, "Medicare as we know it")
- While in almost the same breath criticizing the Wyden-Ryan Medicare Reform Plan -- which is basically an expansion of Medicare Part C -- claiming Wyden-Ryan will end "Medicare as we know it"
- And simultaneously cutting over $100 billion from Medicare Part C to fund healthcare insurance for non-seniors, claiming Part C is unfair to senior citizens on Parts A and B only (all Medicare Part C subscribers are also on Parts A and B).
The fact that Medicare Part C (Medicare Advantage) premiums remained stable for 2013 should be no surprise...
given Obama's and Sebilius' alleged illegal bonuses to insurance companies. And -- what the hell -- I'm a senior citizen on Medicare Part C so I'll take another year of the good prices and good benefits before the devastation of Medicare Advantage predicted by the Medicare actuary kicks in.
