Just a short interruption to my "All Medicare All the Time" marathon...
... to report that the leading Massachusetts tax to fund the 'free care pool' has been raised 10% again this year for the nth year in a row. If you don't follow RomneyCare, this is the tax that was supposed to disappear because RomneyCare would stop all those stupid poor people from the ghettos from going to emergency rooms in their neighborhoods and would instead let them go way over to the rich side of town to the big teaching hospitals carrying their shiny new free RomneyCare cards.
Business Insurance reports that actually more of the supposed-to-have-disappeared-by-now tax money is going to fund Commonwealth Care (the formal name of RomneyCare) this year than to funding the free care pool. But a long time ago before the Deval Patrick administrtion started hiding such information, the state separately reported that the free care pool still is rising when it should have gone away by now according to Romney.
Newsflash: RomneyCare hasn't worked.
