Not everything you would think. Here is the key information from Medicare and You 2012. The 2013 version should be out in September 2012.
"Medicare doesn’t cover everything. If you need certain services that Medicare doesn’t cover, you will have to pay for them yourself unless one of the following applies to you:
- "You have other insurance (including Medicaid) to cover the costs.
- "You’re in a Medicare health plan that covers these services.
Even if Medicare covers a service or item, you generally have to pay deductibles, coinsurance, and copayments."
"Some of the items and services that Medicare doesn’t cover include the following:
"Long-term care (also called custodial care). See pages 122–124.
- "Routine dental care.
- "Dentures.
- "Acupuncture.
- "Hearing aids.
- "Exams for fitting hearing aids."
And for some strange reasons, the politicians that wrote this book also left out of this section titled "What's Not Covered by Part A and Part B?" that A and B (what the Democrats call "Medicare as we know it") do not cover drugs, or annual physicals, or medical care outside the United States, or hospitalization after a limited amount of days, or... and the list goes on and on
